THE VISIONARY
Timothy Marthand, Founder of SOTA, is pioneering a new understanding to an art that has already seen many heroes.
Born in Hyderabad, India, his encounters with classical music began at home with his father, a concert violinist. In 1992 he gave his debut, playing with members of the Nizam’s Symphony Orchestra. Marthand has performed all over the world, from New York to Berlin, and is the only Indian to be represented at the prestigious International Piano Foundation in Lake Como, Italy.
Marthand now aspires to curate musicians and performances of the highest calibre in Hyderabad - that will captivate audiences and inspire communities to grow artistically.

Shruthi Murugan
My inspiration to join SOTA came from watching a piano lesson. “I am a changed person, my life is not the same anymore,” said Timothy's teenaged student - a shocking remark from someone that age. “This is the education I would like to give to children who don’t have access to a lot, but could be just as talented, Shruti,” Timothy said later. There was no going back. I'm a versatile professional who's worked across industries and most recently with startups. I'm helping build a community around SOTA’s vision using my strengths: marketing, partnerships and strategic positioning.
Akarsh Makhija
Engineer. Entrepreneur. Artist. My versatile professions and passion for travel have taken me around the world, exposing me to several culturally rich cities and offering experiences that now inspire me to help revive the lost heritage of Hyderabad. My myriad responsibilities on SOTA - from finance to logistics - involve making sure we're able to do what we set out to and give the people of Hyderabad the opportunities they deserve to live and breathe the arts!
Shruthi Kurien
I'm a professional athlete and aspiring musician. My calling to SOTA was a desire to bring artists of the highest level to Hyderabad and inspire folks from all walks of life. Music is something that speaks to an entire spectrum of people and revitalises the human spirit. Through SOTA, we hope to create a stronger awareness, love and appreciation for this medium and the incredible literature of classical music. I contribute to the team through my roles in logistics, HR, finance, and strategy.
Pradhan Thandra
My love for the arts started with the bass (guitar); it was my first love. I'm a creative by choice and bring a new found passion for advertising design to the table. On a workday, I aim to write at least 10 ideas that are original + productive. Some of those have earned me a shortlist in the Cannes Advertising Festival and Communication Arts magazine; my work overall with Saatchi & Saatchi and Facebook has reached over half a million people.
I really love the idea of what's going to happen to the city with SOTA and wanted to contribute to the design/branding + advertising areas. You can check more of my work at www.pradhan.space

Srihita Bongu
I'm a recent college graduate, passionate about innovation, social impact, and how the two can be mobilized by capital. I'm an avid lover of the classical arts - everything from ballet to symphony orchestra - and I'm excited to get Hyderabad to love them too! My call to action was realizing the need for a platform that unites like-minded people who care about the arts and its reticence in our city. My role is to create and position content, drive marketing strategy, and engage those looking for an outlet like SOTA.
Gayathri Kondepudi
Being a dancer myself, I love every form of art - and it is a great pleasure to be around the greats of this world and watch them weave their magic. I am a part of SOTA on behalf of Jxtapose, a community space dedicated to art, creativity and its growth. We're absolutely honored to join SOTA in its ambitious vision and passion to deliver top-notch music to Hyderabad. We help embolden the spirit of SOTA by sharing our collaborative space and forging partnerships with other organizations.
Jun Chou
I'm a multidisciplinary designer and recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. I'm currently living in Paris, eating lots of baguette, and expanding my portfolio. SOTA pulled me in from halfway across of the world because of the exciting difference it's trying to make and the passionate people driving the change. My involvement in SOTA consists of brainstorming and designing with creative aficionado Pradhan and wishing I was in India with the lovely team members.
Anmol Makhija
I recently graduated from high school and am currently taking a gap year to give myself time to think about a suitable field of study for my undergraduate education. Previously, I headed my high school's student cabinet and organized various conferences and concerts in that capacity.
I find myself gravitating towards classical music and want to build on past experience to put together a brilliant concert series. I am working with the marketing and finance teams at SOTA.
Jonah Jagadeshan
I'm a former employee of a digital marketing/internet company whose name is synonymous with search. Being a part of such an organisation has helped me find my passion towards bringing structure and thereby helping systems move towards excellence. SOTA is built on the same principles of delivering state of the art performances to larger communities. This resonance moved me to be a part of SOTA, where I leverage the same skills, albeit with some music.
